This is my second time here. The Nice Guy is a special place in LA. I love how it's mostly lit by candles making it feel private and exclusive. You are greeted first off by a valet and then someone is there to greet you before you walk in to check on your reservation. If you don't have a reservation, you can always sit at the bar and it's full service. We chose to have a reservation and had a seat in the back with the wall of candles, making our environment romantic. I ordered the chicken Parm and it was amazing. It was huge. It was enough to share. The drinks were a little more pricey, but very good and we did get an upgrade vodka of Belvidere. When ordering the pasta, just be sure if they ask you if you want truffle on top to understand that it is quite a bit extra, but also amazing but it could change your 34 dollar dish to almost a $50 dish. It also states in the front that you can't take pictures, but we took a few of our own just at our table.

Came here for an event and it was fun no doubt! I did not try any food but they had good drinks and many libations to choose from. The service is really nice and it was no hassle to get in! It's known to be upscale but not really a strict dress code. It definitely was a good time here and nice for a lounge to have fun and celebrate. It's really dark inside and not that spacious, but not too bad. I will come back here for sure to try the food! I was able to park on the street! -Marshay D.

After years of knowing about this LA staple, I finally got to visit last night to celebrate the passing of my boards! Upon walking into the restaurant, you immediately feel like you're walking into the most elegant and beautiful speakeasy. The ambiance is perfect to celebrate any occasion with a gorgeous setup and classy music. From just walking inside, I knew this place was going to be good. My friend and I decided to order a few things to share so we could try a variety of food. Now for the breakdown. * Strozzapreti pesto - If you are a pesto lover like I am, THIS is your dish! It was so creamy, cheesy and rich in pesto flavor. The noodles were cooked to perfection and it was a tasteful dish all around. * Mushroom pizza - The way a restaurant makes pizza really tells you about the kind of Italian restaurant they are and when I bit into the pizza, I think I transported to Italy. I've never been to Italy but my friend has and said it was very close to what they have there. The crust was so light, airy, and had the perfect crisp. The flavors were rich in fontina cheese and olive oil. Before ordering I was concerned regarding size but it is the perfect size to share between two people. * Roasted brussel sprouts - Brussels sprouts are a pretty simple dish usually but The Nice Guy perfected them! The addition of feta cheese to the dish added a great soft texture and cheesiness to the dish. * Tiramisu and pumpkin cheesecake - You can't go to an Italian restaurant and not order tiramisu. The tiramisu was super rich but absolutely delicious. I do believe this is the best tiramisu I've ever had as someone who's never been to Italy. The pumpkin cheesecake was also very good and brought out all the fall flavors. I was absolutely blown away by everything and don't think I can order a pizza from anyone else after visiting this place. The ambiance is perfect and the food was even better than perfection. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating to any needs. As for a side note, they do have a photobooth that was free which I think is a great addition especially since no photos are allowed inside. I can't wait to be back and bring more celebrations to The Nice Guy!

Went here for my friend's birthday. The pros: food was out of this world. I didn't know what to expect but every bite was immaculate. We ordered three plates of Molinari's Meatballs (shouldve gotten 4 omg SO GOOD), the Kale Salad (amazing), mushroom and pepperoni pizza (the mushroom especially was a hit but both were great), the oxtail ragu (great), the Australian Swordfish (was a favorite of the birthday girl but I thought it ok). For drinks, I had the Cent'anni which I loved even though i'm usually a sweet drink girl. My second drink I had the Foggy Memories after tasting my friend's and lovinggg it. For dessert the birthday girl got the cookies and milk, which I thought were ok. They did put a candle on the plate which was nice. There's a makeshift Photo Booth (iPad, a ring light, and a curtain) in the back near the restrooms, so make sure you get your photos! The cons: we had a reservation for 7 people and they didn't seat us until an hour and a half after the reservation time. And there wasn't enough room for us at the bar so only 2 out of the 7 could sit while we waited. The drinks were good and the bartenders were nice. But again this reservation was for a birthday so it was pretty upsetting. No apologies or discounts offered due to their lack of proper time management either. Once we were finally sat we received our food quickly. Verdict: 5 stars for food. 2 stars for organization / haughty atmosphere. Definitely go, but don't go for special occasions / on a night when you have to be elsewhere after dinner.
